Pardon the late post. The last three days, getting Lin home from the hospital and into a home routine, getting us assistant nurses trained and all, have gone by in a blur of newness and procedure.

She has had two very good days, the cardinals have faithfully come to the bird feeder at the window to welcome her back, and we are getting settled. Energy is up and down, she has taken a few short walks. She definitely feels stronger than she did, able to walk a bit, walked out onto the deck by the window and surveyed our snowy domain.

Pain pump is ramped up now, and controlling the pain quite well, without inhibiting alertness like the other drugs. It uses about 1/100 the amount to create the same effect.

She asks me to say she appreciates everything people do and wishes she could be more in direct touch, but has very limited energy and can’t have visitors right now.

We are having a good time recording events of our life together. We used a handheld recorder today for 15 minutes to create the history of how we met and got married, fun to remember and looking back, appears inevitable, but not so at the time.

Thanks everyone. We are in a new stage.

Lin and Lorin, I have been reading and have kept my Dad (Gib Green) informed about all the goings on with you and your family. He thinks of you guys often and wishes the best for your family. Fond memories of the Walker family in Dallas area. Puts smiles on Dad’s face. He told me the story of coming over to your home with a problem you had on your roof and the leaking. He said he diagnosed it and then Lorin went to work and got it fixed. Remember that time??

Such a gathering of cardinals and no new pope? I heard Cardinal Sacola was a clear favorite until the problems with copyright infringement were discussed. (You know, Pope Sacola would have been a refreshing change but no go.)
Seriously, home is the best place to be. And together. Thanks for the update. And sorry for the levity; it’s a genetic thing. Much love. MW
